Cairo

Cairo is regarded as the centre of the eastern Mediterranean region. Cairo has witnessed the rise of great historical figures. The Pyramids of Giza are counted amongst the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. During the late nineteenth century a railway was built from Cairo to Luxor; today this spectacular railway, known as the Southern Railroad, connects Cairo and Luxor.
